Lead Hammer Mold Set, 1 Pound

$279.95

Cast and recast a ONE pound lead hammer. Includes mold, handle, and a five pound lead bar. An excellent choice for a machinist or gunsmith. Stop damaging parts! Lead hammers produce heavy blows with very little rebound and no surface blemishes. Use the hammer on expensive or delicate ferrous (iron, steel), nonferrous (aluminum, copper), and plastic parts. This is a proven design with over a 100 year history.

Note: Customers outside the USA will receive two handles and no lead bar due to US Postal Service considerations.
This listing does not include any props in the photo section (bench, gloves, torch, etc.). Import duty/ tax is the responsibility of the buyer.

Made in Rhode Island, USA. We are an authorized distributor for Cook Hammer Company, Inc. Description from the Cook Hammer website: "Molds have a built-in ladle that holds the exact amount of molten lead needed to form the hammer head. A c-clamp and thumb screw hold the mold together until the metal has set. Handles are reusable and made of solid steel with a rubber grip."

Instructions (See Photos): 1. Place hammer handle in mold. Close mold. A c-clamp and thumb screw hold the mold together for casting. 2. Place lead into ladle. 3. Head lead with propane torch. Continue to heat the lead until it liquifes. The melted lead is extremely hot, please take necessay precautions. 4. Once the lead is completely melted, tip the ladle to pour the lead into the mold. Note: The mold is designed to evacuate excess lead due to the overflow vent. Some spilling may occur. 5. Wait fifteen minutes before opening the mold to expose the freshly molded hammer. 6. Congratulations! Your new hammer is ready to use. When the hammer becomes overly deformed, melt and recast.
